Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse II to join our team at the State of Vermont. As a Public Health Nurse II, you will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of Vermont's school-aged children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with school nurses and primary care practices to improve student access to care
  • Provide direct support and technical assistance to school nurses in approximately 75 public and private schools in Chittenden County
  • Communicate relevant data and identify evidence-based best practice models and/or toolkits
  • Work with school personnel to help schools achieve their goals of meeting the health and wellness needs of their students
  • Perform clinical functions of a local health office, including venipuncture, vaccination, specimen collection, and tuberculosis case management
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in nursing and five (5) years or more of professional nursing experience, including three (3) or more years in public health or community health nursing
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont or eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license
