Nursing Program Director

The Nursing Program Director is responsible for the strategic planning and management of assigned programs and/or projects, ensuring optimal quality, cost, and service outcomes. This role requires a strong leadership presence, with the ability to direct and manage personnel, operations, and finances effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategic plans for program(s)/project(s) to achieve desired outcomes.
- Direct the operational management of program(s)/project(s) to ensure high-quality service and efficient use of resources.
- Manage personnel assigned to program(s)/project(s), ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws and hospital policies.
- Oversee the financial management of program(s)/project(s) to ensure fiscal responsibility and optimal service outcomes.
- Promote patient and family advocacy, and maintain ethical practice standards.
- Lead and direct quality improvement initiatives for program(s)/project(s), and support nursing research.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing and current licensure or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas.
- Minimum four years of RN experience, including two years of progressive management experience.
- Approved specialty certification required (as applicable to assigned program(s)/project(s)).
- Work environment is located in a comfortable indoor area.
- Conditions such as noise, odors, cramped workspace, and/or fumes could sometimes cause discomfort.
- May require moderate to extreme physical effort, including walking, standing, performing CPR, and lifting materials, equipment, objects, and/or patients.
- Must have adequate vision, hearing, talking, and sense of touch abilities to perform tasks such as reading small print, reading from monitoring equipment, defining details, sending and receiving clear and accurate oral communication.
- Frequent periods of concentrated or focused attention will be needed to interpret visual, auditory, and sensory inputs.
- Alertness and careful attention to detail will be required to avoid injury.
- Minimal exposure to occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, radiation, chemotherapeutic agents, and disoriented or combative patients.
- May work extended shifts as necessary to complete job objectives.
- May be required to be on standby and work extended shifts in situations deemed necessary by the Chief Nursing Officer and/or Nursing Director.
- Able to work under stress and be emotionally capable of coping with complex and/or changing activities.
