Ophthalmic Assistant II

The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant II assists physicians providing patient care by preparing patients for examination and diagnostic testing. This role is primarily in the Ophthalmic Diagnostic Imaging section.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepares exam rooms for patients and maintains instruments and equipment.
Prepares patients for physician's exam and performs testing based on patient needs and physician preference.
Assists in organizing and planning of patient care and follow-up, including major/minor procedures and diagnostic testing.
Assists Ophthalmologist with surgical procedures as necessary.
Requirements:
Current Ophthalmic Assistant Certification (COA, COT, or COMT) OR CPR Certification is required.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology. Completion of an accredited program in Ophthalmology may substitute for the experience requirement.
