Job Summary:The Ophthalmic Assistant will assist physicians in providing patient care by preparing patients for examination and diagnostic testing. This includes preparing exam rooms, maintaining instruments and equipment, and performing testing based on patient needs and physician preference.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare patients for physician's exam and perform testing as needed
- Maintain operating room according to sterile technique, scrubbing, gowning, and gloving procedures
- Assist in organizing and planning of patient care and follow-up, including major/minor procedures and diagnostic testing
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Current Ophthalmic Assistant Certification (COA, COT, or COMT) or certification eligible
- CPR Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of clinical experience in Ophthalmology or completion of an accredited program in Ophthalmology
