Cardiac Exercise Stress Specialist

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Cardiac Exercise Stress Specialist will independently perform exercise stress tests, obtaining and interpreting electrocardiogram tracings, blood pressure, heart rate responses, and patient symptoms. The specialist will recognize variations of normal and pathological patterns of test results and consult with supervisors or cardiologists as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform exercise stress tests, including electrocardiogram tracings, blood pressure, and heart rate responses
- Interpret test results and recognize variations of normal and pathological patterns
- Consult with supervisors or cardiologists as needed
- Perform patient care and technical duties in the outpatient Pacemaker Clinic
- Prepare charts for MD interpretation, pacemaker interrogation and programming, and transtelephonic pacemaker follow-up
Requirements:
- B.S. in Exercise Physiology/Science, Cardiopulmonary Sciences, or related field (or equivalent education, training, or experience)
- CPR certification required; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
- Minimum 6 months of cardiac stress testing experience
