About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of complex software systems for a major missile program as a Senior Principal Software Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Software Integrated Product Team (IPT) to manage all cost, schedule, and execution for Software Engineering activities on the program.
  • Communicate and work closely with other IPTs, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, team members, and customers to support missile system development activities.
  • Manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines, and lead a team working multiple configurations of hardware and managing multiple development branches.

The Software organization at Raytheon Technologies develops software applications, including integration and test on missiles, launchers, radars, naval systems, fire control, and other complex systems. We bring together sensor, guidance, and flight control processing features to complete the mission.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience.
  • Experience across the Agile software development lifecycle in three or more of the following: C++ data structures and algorithms or C, C++, Python, and/or Object-Oriented Program Languages; systems software design; FQT test planning & execution; integration of real-time software/firmware/hardware; software test equipment maintenance; software requirements definition, experience on a program with security constraints.
  • Experience including at least two of the following: Embedded Software, Embedded Software Security, Embedded Operating Systems (Linux, RTOS, VxWorks, etc), Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
  • Control Account Manager certification and experience as an acting CAM.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently, multi-task and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal & teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Agile Software development methods (e.g., Scrum, continuous integration, etc.) including experience using Git/ADS.
  • Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python).
  • Experience adapting Board Support Packages.
  • Experience with System Integrity software design and development.
