About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead our Integrated Product Team (IPT) in managing all cost, schedule, and execution for Software Engineering activities on a major missile program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Software IPT to manage all cost, schedule, and execution for Software Engineering activities on the program.
  • Communicating and working closely with other IPTs, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, team members, and customers to support missile system development activities.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Applying expertise in software development for embedded multi-processor systems.
  • Providing innovative and creative software solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Following and/or recommending changes to established processes and procedures.
  • Creating new procedures in new program areas.
  • Reviewing software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy.
  • Producing documentation related to software artifacts across the lifecycle.
  • Communicating and collaborating with team members and senior engineers to produce well-understood and repeatable results.
  • Demonstrating ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of program, customers, and technical leads.
  • Providing presentations to communicate status to program leadership and the customer.
  • Using Microsoft Office suite of resources to produce documentation to facilitate program leadership and customer discussions and decisions.
  • Performing Control Account Manager (CAM) duties in an EVMS environment.
  • Utilizing agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience.
  • Experience across the Agile software development lifecycle in three or more of the following: C++ data structures and algorithms or C, C++, Python, and/or Object-Oriented Program Languages; systems software design; FQT test planning & execution; integration of real-time software/firmware/hardware; software test equipment maintenance; software requirements definition, experience on a program with security constraints.
  • Experience including at least two of the following: Embedded Software, Embedded Software Security, Embedded Operating Systems (Linux, RTOS, VxWorks, etc), Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
  • Control Account Manager certification and experience as an acting CAM.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python).
  • Experience adapting Board Support Packages.
  • Experience with System Integrity software design and development.
