Position Overview

Lynx Software Technologies is in search of a seasoned Embedded Software Engineer at the principal level, eager to collaborate with a skilled team to deliver cutting-edge solutions for future challenges. The ideal candidate will be part of a high-achieving, multi-location team and must exhibit self-motivation, a robust work ethic, effective time management, and strong interpersonal abilities. In this role, you will alternate between independent project work and collaborative efforts with fellow software engineers and other program development teams.

The selected candidate will undergo a government security investigation and must fulfill eligibility criteria for access to classified information, maintaining this eligibility throughout their tenure as mandated by the position.

  • Design, integrate, and validate software products.
  • Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts across all projects.

Essential Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in C/C++ software development.
  • Prior experience in writing embedded software (C, C++, and/or Ada).
  • Experience with real-time operating system integration.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot/debug on target hardware in lab/mock-up settings.
  • Proficient in both Linux and Windows development environments.
  • Strong communication skills for project status updates and collaboration on technical solutions with clients and peers.
  • Experience in integrating independently developed algorithms into embedded software.
  • Comprehensive software development lifecycle experience.
  • Active Secret DoD security clearance.
  • Willingness to work onsite full-time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps tools and CI/CD workflows (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
  • Proficient in using Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket).
  • Experience in Python development.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (e.g., Cameo, AADL).
  • Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), ARINC 653, and flight software development.
  • Background in safety-critical software development practices (DO-178C).
  • Ability to communicate and document complex technical designs effectively.
  • Capacity to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
