POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager oversees financial estimates and provides comprehensive operational management for a variety of commercial and industrial electrical construction initiatives.
Project Managers typically operate from their designated project site, with occasional visits to the main office.

Sturgeon Electric operates through two divisions, specializing in both power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical services, positioning itself as a full-service electrical contractor.
The Commercial and Industrial (C&I) division focuses on large-scale electrical projects, including telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, and high voltage distribution service and maintenance.
Sturgeon Electric is experienced in implementing Integrated Lean Project Delivery methods and provides pre-construction services, in-house pre-fabrication, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage project construction timelines
- Submit inquiries for clarification to clients
- Oversee daily operations of assigned projects
- Serve as the primary contact for project teams
- Organize meetings, update schedules, deliver reports, and address outstanding issues as requested by clients
- Prepare look-ahead documents and generate weekly and monthly progress reports along with billing information
- Monitor job costs against budget estimates
- Provide regular updates to the management team
- Create detailed cost estimates (labor and materials) for commercial and industrial projects within specified deadlines
- Conduct field evaluations for estimate preparation
- Engage in the estimate review process with both internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare material lists and relevant information for procurement
- Schedule and conduct site visits with clients, subcontractors, and construction teams to assess constructability requirements
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across various project documents
- Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders
- Collaborate closely with project management
- Support construction teams throughout the project lifecycle in understanding and tracking cost estimates
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
Essential functions of this role are to be performed in a designated office or field location.
Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other relevant professional standards.
Qualifications- 10+ years of project management and estimating experience in the electrical sector
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in interpreting specifications, proposals, and documentation for time/cost/labor estimates
- Familiar with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and applicable local regulations
- Capable of reading and understanding civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans, including blueprints and proposals related to electrical work
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experienced with estimating software such as Accubid or similar
- Ability to develop construction schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Collaborative team player who can effectively work with diverse internal and external partners
- Self-motivated with the ability to maintain focus for extended periods
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Competitive salary range of $115,000-$140,000 per year, commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Salary ranges are provided in good faith and may be adjusted based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
