Position Overview:
The selected candidate will engage in essential functions to assist in the educational environment, particularly focusing on supporting students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with educators to facilitate instruction, adapting classroom activities and materials as necessary under the guidance of the supervising teacher.
  • Implement individualized behavior plans for students, working closely with administrative and certified staff.
  • Provide assistance to students with personal care needs, ensuring their comfort and hygiene.
  • Supervise students throughout the school day in various settings, including common areas and during transportation.
  • Maintain accurate records related to attendance, inventory, and academic performance.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Required approval as a Paraprofessional for Special Education roles.
  • Exhibit professionalism, thoroughness, and familiarity with educational procedures.
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students and staff.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to manage challenging situations with tact and sound judgment.
  • Basic organizational and clerical skills are necessary, along with proficiency in operating standard office equipment.
  • Intermediate computer skills may be required, along with a valid driver's license in some cases.
  • Musical skills may be beneficial.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret various documents and communications.
  • Proficient in writing professional correspondence.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from individuals and groups.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Familiarity with testing administration is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
  • The role requires the ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear, with frequent standing and walking.
  • May involve lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Work is typically conducted at a single site, with occasional travel for meetings or events.
