About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist Level II to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain aseptic surgical fields, instruments, and equipment for various procedures.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, including holding retractors, cauterizing, and applying surgical dressings.
  • Ensure the environmental disinfection, safety, and efficiency of the operating room, including setting up the room for each case and operating various types of equipment.
  • Function as a First or Second Assistant as necessary, including holding retractors, cauterizing, and applying surgical dressings under the direct guidance of a surgeon.
  • Notify appropriate staff of equipment and supply problems, and transport patients and/or equipment and supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Surgical Technologist position.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
