Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist II to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our operating room team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, including passing instruments and providing suction and irrigation.
  • Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.
  • 2 years of experience in a Surgical Technologist position.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques and suturing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to lift up to 50 pounds. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment and to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
