Job Title: Clinical Director

Alpha Recovery Center Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Director to lead our clinical team and ensure the overall effectiveness of our addiction treatment program.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Director will be responsible for directing the clinical component of our program, facilitating clinical/residential interface, and ensuring the integrity and success of our clinical program and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with each residential clinician regarding treatment planning and discharge planning.
  • Verify ancillary appointments being kept.
  • Verify all therapists' weekly reports are in and accurate to include family members contacted; number of family members in family group; sessions completed by family therapist and co-therapists.
  • Carries cell phone for "on call" coverage.
  • Ensure referrals are made to outside therapist/psychiatrists, etc. and to continuing levels of care both within our system and to other programs.
  • Reviews and updates the recovery plan through written documentation on the Recovery Plan Review (weekly) at the clinical staffing.
  • Communicates the client's progress through record-keeping and verbal interaction with the Facility staff personnel and referral sources.
  • Maintains professional rapport with the referral source as well as utilization review personnel.
  • Keeps the Facility office staff apprised of pertinent interaction with clients.
  • Attends all staffing's, in-service trainings and meetings as required, including weekly clinical staffing and team meetings, as well as any additional meetings as requested by the supervisor.
  • Works in cooperation with Administration, therapy staff and ancillary staff members to establish consistent, therapeutic interventions to ensure optimum individual progress.
  • Acts as a representative of the Facility to the community and educational institutions by request of supervisor.
  • Monitors work performance for performance improvement and quality assurance issues, reviews on client charts.
  • Participates in performance improvement opportunities as requested.
  • Maintains a working knowledge and complies with DHCS standards.
  • Observes The Facility policy and procedure requirements as it pertains to personnel.
  • Conforms to the philosophy and ethics of the Facility.
  • Demonstrates the concepts of the philosophy through courteous and caring behavior toward all clients, staff and visitors.
  • Facilitates weekly clinical supervision meeting with clinicians, resident advisors and psychiatrist.
  • Obtain weekly QA report and discuss with clinicians if there are concerns.
  • Create ways to inspire the entire staff i.e. fun at staff meetings; spend quality time with staff that you don't directly supervise.
  • Coordinate with VP one in-service per month for staff development of all staff.
  • Coordinates with VP and CEO to meet licensing requirements.
  • Intervenes and assists as needed clinically with clients' therapists and assigned team, families and referral sources (crisis intervention, ATA risks, etc.).
  • Obtain admission profile sheet for each admission from Program/Clinical Supervisor.
  • Assign clinician to case and give clinician admission profile sheet.
Administrative Duties:
  • Participates in Quality Improvement task groups (as assigned).
  • Interface with assigned clients insurance, managed care companies, planning and concurrent review.
  • Ensures client records for assigned case load are comprehensive, complete, neat and meet licensing standards.
  • Provide supervisor with a weekly referral and QA report.
  • Participates in alumni and referral source events pertinent to the facility.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Master's degree (college degree preferred).
  • Minimum of one (5) year training/experience in addiction preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to cooperate with team members and work in collaborative team setting, flexible in accepting assignments that correspond with a varied work load.
  • Communication skills sufficient to assess clients and interpret information in terms of chemical dependency.
  • Maintains current CPR and First Aid training.
  • Current TB Test or secured at time of hire.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth.
  • Valid unrestricted state driver's license.
