The Manufacturing Operations Leader will deliver both technical and managerial guidance in the realm of product production and workforce development. The ideal candidate will lead the production team through effective coaching and skill enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all operational plans, work guidelines, and procedures related to the technical functioning of production lines prioritize employee safety.
- Actively engage in and adhere to the requirements for Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Establish clear and measurable performance objectives aligned with plant goals.
- Proactively assess and manage all relevant performance metrics to enhance efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Guarantee that the measurement systems are utilized to drive outcomes; recognize and celebrate safe practices and achievements, ensuring accountability to established standards.
- Utilize quality systems to ensure a consistent product that meets manufacturing specifications and customer expectations.
- Prepare budgets related to workforce, production, and space forecasting to meet customer demands.
- Collaborate with the Process Engineer and Reliability Leader to identify and promote continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and quality.
- Work alongside operational leadership and the division TPM steering team to formulate the master plan and strategies for implementing the AM Pillar.
- Identify, monitor, and communicate metrics that will gauge the progress of the Pillars.
- Enhance plant-wide proficiency and utilization of appropriate processes and tools to solidify the Lean & TPM culture.
- Effectively mentor teams and individuals at all organizational levels regarding TPM principles and practices.
- Develop and deliver training as necessary to build TPM knowledge and awareness throughout the plant.
- Create an environment conducive to talent development and the realization of their full potential.
- Lead, coach, and instruct employees to reinforce High Performance values of engagement, empowerment, conflict resolution, and ownership of safety, plant processes, and performance.
- Establish clear and measurable performance expectations and hold team members accountable for achieving goals.
- Regularly assess the strengths and growth opportunities of the team, investing in their development to ensure sustained success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting with a strong understanding of production systems and processes.
- Experience in TPM or lean manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven ability to lead change to achieve results.
- Experience and success in coaching and leading teams within a high employee engagement and empowerment culture are strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with data utilization and data collection systems, as well as Six Sigma methodologies for problem-solving and decision-making to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs.
- Capability to create and implement strategic plans.
- Able to achieve results swiftly, both individually and through teams.
- Willingness to take business risks, learn from failures, and celebrate successes.
- Travel requirements: 10-20%.
