Job Title: Director of Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our team at the University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the fundraising efforts for the College of Arts and Sciences, with a focus on securing philanthropic gifts to support the college's strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors to secure major gifts for the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the college's goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and development staff to identify and cultivate potential donors
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, and community leaders
  • Develop and implement a stewardship plan to ensure that donors are recognized and appreciated for their support
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in development, sales, or a related field
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and developing successful fundraising strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and 3+ years of experience in development, sales, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to secure major gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other private funding sources
  • Knowledge of fundraising approaches specific to an academic institution
  • Experience in pipeline development and donor stewardship
