About the Role:

The Assistant Director of Development will play a critical role in securing philanthropic gifts to support the college's strategic fundraising priorities. This includes identifying, assessing, and soliciting major gift and multi-year commitments from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of new prospects through an active schedule of identification, assessment, cultivation, solicitation, negotiation, and stewardship.
  • Build relationships among prospective donors, alumni, and volunteers to support programs and priorities.
  • Negotiate and close philanthropic gifts with an emphasis on major gifts.
  • Lead efforts to identify, retain, and reactivate leadership annual giving and mid-level giving donors.
  • Design and implement fundraising strategies to secure annual gifts and major gifts for the Tickle College of Engineering.
  • Partner with advancement colleagues across campus and the UT System on shared prospects, funding priorities, and donor stewardship.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree with 1+ years of experience in development, sales, marketing, a higher education environment, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to secure gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other private funding sources.
  • Knowledge of fundraising approaches specific to an academic institution.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with academic leadership, faculty, colleagues, prospects, and donors in a wide range of roles.
