Bilingual Learning Coach Job Description

Empire State University is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Learning Coach to join our team. As a Bilingual Learning Coach, you will provide one-to-one and small group learning assistance and coaching to students in the Spanish language program.

Responsibilities:
  • Review course material and clarify assignments for students.
  • Provide asynchronous assistance to students.
  • Advise students on study skills, reading strategies, and time management.
  • Assist students with navigation of LMS, MS Teams, and other university sites and systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of student meetings, including writing a session report for each session.
  • Schedule students for appointments as needed.
  • Complete required training and participate in professional development.
  • Possibility of delivering academic support workshops in area of expertise.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited US university or comparable non-US university with relevant content expertise.
  • Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
  • Prior experience tutoring students at the college level.
  • Experience providing learning assistance in an online environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience tutoring adult college students.
  • Prior knowledge of and experience in working with bilingual and emergent bilingual learners, particularly in online settings.
  • Prior experience working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Additional Information:

Salary: $25-$30 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
