Suffolk University, a leading institution of higher education, seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to join its Advancement team as an Assistant/Associate Director of Athletics Giving. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the world of athletics fundraising and contribute to the university's mission of excellence in education and research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies for Athletics, including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting alumni, parents, and friends to support the department.
  • Collaborate with Advancement colleagues and Athletics staff to create relationships with prospects and donors, and to design and implement targeted solicitations and giving campaigns.
  • Utilize giving levels and giving history to cultivate, solicit, and steward athletics donors, and to further develop the Athletics giving level program, including the Coach Nelson Club.
  • Support coaches in engaging and stewarding donors to their programs, including helping to develop and implement communication plans.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Advancement database system, RE NXT, and track all development-related activities in the database.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; 3-5 years of fundraising, alumni relations, event management, and development experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Athletic experience as a player, coach, or administrator at the high school or intercollegiate level preferred.
  • Strong writing, planning, marketing, communications, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues, alumni, and other constituents.
  • Experience with RE NXT database or a similar constituent database, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
