Job Summary:

The University of Massachusetts Boston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our sports medicine department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care to our student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide preventative measures, acute care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries to intercollegiate student-athletes.
• Collaborate with the Head Athletic Trainer, team physician, and strength and conditioning coach to ensure comprehensive care and support for our student-athletes.
• Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including education and training for student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of injuries, developing treatment plans and providing ongoing care and rehabilitation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with NCAA and NATA regulations.
• Coordinate medical coverage for home and away contests, as well as events as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external healthcare resources, including University Health Services and Boston Children's Hospital.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field, with Master's Degree preferred.
• Three years of experience as a certified athletic trainer, with licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
• NATA certification and maintenance of certification by NATA required.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (Instructor Certification preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies.
• Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously, with strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
