Role Overview
The Senior Principal Scientist in Translational Medicine will report to the Senior Scientific Director and will be integral to the late-stage Translational Medicine group. This position involves overseeing translational and clinical biomarker initiatives that support drug development across various neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions. The successful candidate will take on leadership roles in biomarker strategy, including representation on study teams, developing biomarker plans for clinical trials, and ensuring the accurate collection and timely analysis of biomarker data.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement tailored biomarker and translational strategies.
- Collaborate in the creation of clinical protocols, statistical analysis plans, and lab manuals, while coordinating with contract research organizations for service execution.
- Identify suitable assays and vendors for clinical biomarkers, managing the outsourcing of biomarker assay development.
- Ensure timely delivery and analysis of clinical biomarker data by collaborating with internal teams and CROs.
- Prepare and present translational and biomarker findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay informed on relevant scientific literature to enhance internal research initiatives and serve as a subject-matter expert.
- Collaborate with laboratory scientists and academic thought leaders to address nonclinical translational inquiries.
- Support regulatory submissions and interactions as necessary.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with 8+ years, or a Ph.D. with 6+ years of experience in the Life Sciences.
- Proven experience in late-stage drug development and clinical trial processes.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing projects and mentoring team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field with a minimum of 8 years in academia or biotech.
- At least 3 years of experience in clinical biomarker development.

Compensation
The starting compensation for this role ranges from $159,000 to $200,000, complemented by potential incentive cash and stock opportunities, based on eligibility.
