Overview of the Position:


Wells Fargo is in search of a Senior Power BI Solutions Architect to enhance our Commercial, Consumer, and Investment Banking Technology division, focusing on data and analytics.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to develop software across various languages and platforms, including Microsoft Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Power Query.

It is essential to have a deep understanding of the advantages and risks associated with different methodologies, identifying the most suitable options when faced with multiple technical routes, and proactively addressing potential challenges by implementing preventative strategies.


Key Responsibilities:


Engage in the planning and design phases of Power BI reporting solutions, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, secure, and aligned with stakeholder reporting needs.


Architect, design, and create scalable, interactive reports and dashboards utilizing Power BI that are user-friendly and meet established UI/UX standards.


Formulate and execute Power BI data strategies and models that facilitate complex reporting and analytics while ensuring optimal performance and scalability.


Develop Composite Data Models by integrating data from various sources into Power BI, ensuring accurate data capture, transformation, and presentation.


Establish security protocols within Power BI reports and dashboards to guarantee data confidentiality, integrity, and adherence to data governance and security regulations.


Monitor and enhance the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure efficient operation, minimizing load times, and improving user experience.


Collaborate with business analysts, database administrators, and other stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and deliver Power BI solutions that fulfill expectations.


Create test plans and conduct comprehensive testing of Power BI reports and dashboards. Document software issues, resolve them, and re-test to ensure the highest quality and reliability.


Prepare training materials and documentation as necessary and assist Business Analysts in providing training and support to end users on the utilization of developed software products.


Participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, ensuring timely completion of Power BI development tasks.


Solicit feedback from business stakeholders to gather insights on UI/UX/CX of delivered Power BI reports, documenting lessons learned to inform future development efforts.


Act as a technical leader within the project team, mentoring junior developers, and offering guidance on best practices in software development, data integration, and system architecture.

Lead intricate technology initiatives that have a companywide impact.

Contribute to the establishment of standards and best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions across the organization.

Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs.

Analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, considering the enterprise technological environment and technical challenges that require thorough evaluation of multiple factors.

Make informed decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions, understanding industry best practices and emerging technologies, guiding the technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.

Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical challenges and achieve objectives.

Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.

Essential Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Software Engineering or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, and education.

5+ years of experience in data and analytics, specifically with Power BI.

4+ years of experience in developing Power BI dashboarding and reporting solutions, particularly in data warehousing.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical fields.

4+ years of experience working within an Agile team.

Experience in communicating with stakeholders across various business lines.

Experience in leading projects or initiatives and mentoring junior engineers.
