About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team at MasTec Inc. as a key member of our Telecom Infrastructure Construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage safety, quality, financials, production, schedule, inventory, resource, and customer satisfaction objectives for assigned projects.
  • Serve as the site-specific expert for assigned projects, providing technical guidance and support to project teams.
  • Work with project managers to develop initial project-specific budgeted cost and budgeted revenue estimates to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Take lead responsibility for all revenue and cost components of the construction portion of projects, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain forecasted construction schedules for assigned projects, reporting on milestone actualizations and schedule changes.
  • Create, maintain, and archive SOW/OOM/BOMs for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Review RFDS and other RF engineering documents to determine constructability and develop SOW/OOM/BOMs, advising project managers and customers of any issues.
  • Review project drawings and provide design recommendations, ensuring accurate SOW/OOM/BOMs and compliance with company standards.
  • Identify and schedule sub-contractors and internal crews required for project builds, ensuring timely completion and quality workmanship.
  • Receive and review sub-contractor quotes, change-orders, and invoices, working with project controls to issue purchase orders and process payments.
  • Ensure all pass-through costs are accounted for in SOW/OOM/BOMs, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Provide coordination with utility companies, OEMs, tenants, and federal, state, and local municipal requirements, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Monitor WTC crew time billed against assigned jobs, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings to clarify safety, quality, SOW/OOM/BOM, schedule, and close-out requirements for internal WTC crews and sub-contractors.
  • Monitor safety, quality, and schedule during construction, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Ensure all changes to SOW/OOM/BOMs occurring during construction are passed through to WTC customers in real-time.
  • Ensure all close-out requirements are delivered in real-time, within the natural cadence of the project.
  • Participate in post-construction meetings to verify WTC crew/sub-contractor quality, true-up sub-contractor purchase orders, and verify close-out documents.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Manager in telecom construction, preferably wireline/OSP.
  • Proven track record of completing work with a high level of quality.
  • Ability to figure out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and keep commitments.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage, establish, and communicate clear goals and objectives.
  • Able to commute daily to our location in Temple, TX.
