Position Overview

This role involves providing essential support to technical teams while executing administrative tasks as directed by management and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assigns technicians to address issues on the conveyor system and generates work orders for necessary repairs.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures, following directives from management.
  • May handle incoming calls for the maintenance department.
  • Utilizes initiative and judgment to escalate issues to appropriate authorities or manage them to minimize disruptions to conveyor operations.
  • Develops, modifies, and maintains databases and spreadsheets related to maintenance site administration, ensuring accurate filing and reporting of conveyor system operations.
  • Produces relevant reports for clients upon request or as scheduled.
  • Maintains effective communication with clients as required.
  • Records daily operations, system outages, and performance metrics of the conveyor system.
  • Keeps an accurate flight schedule in collaboration with clients, making necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Assists in resolving jams within the baggage handling system.
  • Fosters a positive working relationship with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
  • May oversee parts inventory and perform data entry within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Completes all assigned safety training as mandated by the company.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Undertakes additional tasks as assigned by management as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Availability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an airport setting.
  • Strong communication skills with clients, TSA, and airline representatives.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety protocols.
  • Typing proficiency of at least 30 words per minute.
  • Clear verbal communication over two-way radio systems.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications (CMMS, MS Office, Baggage System User Interface).
  • Background in warehousing and inventory management.
  • Understanding of baggage handling systems.
  • Capability to pass a basic mechanical/electrical aptitude assessment.
  • Previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and budgeting.

Computer Skills

Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Ability to access and respond to emails and complete training.

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability under company policy.
  • Compliance with the company's drug and alcohol policy.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements of this position may vary daily and are not limited to a single workday.

Work Environment

This position operates within an airport terminal, which may expose the employee to dust, dirt, and consistent noise levels that comply with OSHA standards.
