Park City Communities Controller

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team at Park City Communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial reporting, with a minimum of six years' experience in accounting, three of which are in a supervisor's role. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements, REAC submission, reconciliations, journal entries and other financial reports. Additionally, the successful candidate will formulate and administer approved HUD and accounting practices throughout the Housing Authority.
About the Role:
This position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong customer service skills, and the ability to listen and communicate with a diverse group of individuals. The Controller will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other staff members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, policies, procedures, and priorities relating to accounting and financial reporting.
- Assist in developing internal audit protocols and perform periodic internal audits of various Authority functions and program administration.
- Oversee the development of the Capital Fund 5-year plan and input the plan into EPIC.
- Recommend changes to accounting systems, including the establishment of additional General Ledgers or other accounting requirements.
- Participate in meetings with the Chief Financial Officer and bank officials to coordinate Park City Communities banking arrangements and depository agreements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, business administration, accounting or another related field required. Master's Degree or CPA designation a plus.
- A minimum of six years' experience in accounting, three of which are in a supervisor's role. Payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes.
- Strong customer service skills, understand and follow instructions independently, proficient in Excel and MS Word, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to listen and communicate with a diverse group of individuals, possesses a valid CT driver's license.

The estimated salary for this role is approximately $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
