Role Overview

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in steering cross-functional teams to formulate and implement project strategies, ensuring timelines are met, budgets are adhered to, and project scopes are followed. The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency of individual projects within a complex portfolio, prioritizing the overall speed of new product development.

Key Responsibilities

To cultivate a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be tasked with:
  • Overseeing projects from initial approval to final completion
  • Developing a comprehensive work plan for each project phase, incorporating insights from resource managers and team members
  • Crafting and managing project timelines
  • Ensuring project documentation is thorough, meets established standards, and is maintained appropriately
  • Collaborating with fellow project managers to align resources and project demands with corporate objectives
  • Defining and reviewing project requirements with stakeholders to ensure accurate scope management, aligning with cost and profitability targets
  • Monitoring and reporting on project budgets
  • Facilitating timely decision-making to achieve project goals through teamwork
  • Addressing project-related challenges and conflicts effectively
  • Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of project management practices
  • Coordinating communication among team members and organizational stakeholders
  • Seeking guidance from supervisors and senior team members for new assignments and complex decisions
  • Meeting or surpassing expectations for leadership, productivity, and safety
  • Performing additional duties as assigned, including managing special projects outside of new product development
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • NP Project Manager II requires 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • NP Project Manager III requires 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Project is advantageous
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus
  • Basic understanding of the new product development lifecycle
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with critical chain project management methodology
  • High competency in conflict identification and resolution
  • Ability to assess constraints and escalate issues when necessary
  • Strong emotional intelligence with a focus on collaboration and teamwork
