Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Industrial Hygiene and Building Sciences Manager to join our Building Sciences Practice Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring quality and delivery of services, and collaborating with other departments to facilitate the delivery of IHBS services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage IHBS Practice Team operations to ensure quality and delivery of services
- Coordinate and schedule efforts of assigned staff, including project management on select assignments
- Communicate strategies, policies, and initiatives to ensure resource allocation and deadline management
- Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures, and ensure conformance with client quality standards
- Monitor and report key performance indicators
- Collaborate with practices and other departments to facilitate the delivery of IHBS services
- Manage staff work assignments and activities, including technical training programs and safety protocols
- Develop performance goals, outline career paths, and conduct performance reviews of assigned staff
- Coordinate with regions regarding budgets, deadlines, schedules, deliverables, contract requirements, and client expectations
- Conduct team meetings, participate in ATO and practice coordination meetings, and provide reporting and other inputs
- Develop workload projections, perform resource leveling, and identify staffing needs
- Track and report key performance metrics
- Perform quality control on all deliverables for compliance with ATO Standard Operating Procedures and Atlas quality procedures
- Support business development activities, including fee, scope, and schedule development, client interactions, and participation in coordination meetings
- Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field (additional experience in lieu of degree considered)
- 10-15 years of experience in building sciences or industrial hygiene
- Experience with asbestos, mold, and lead-related projects required
- Valid Driver's License, ability to pass a Driver Background Check, and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a Background Check for work with state and local governments and defense contractor clients
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment as needed
- Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills required
- Proven effective management skills required
- Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Asbestos, lead, and/or mold licenses or training required
- Microsoft Office experience required
- Experienced in writing comprehensive technical reports and proposals/RFPs
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene services required
