Industrial Hygienist I Specialist

Job Summary:The Industrial Hygienist I will support senior-level industrial hygienists and practice team managers in conducting complex building science and industrial hygiene assessments. The successful candidate will analyze previous surveys to determine if additional sampling is required and prepare scopes of services. They will also perform field assessments, collect environmental and personal samples, and maintain and operate building science and industrial hygiene instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support senior-level industrial hygienists and practice team managers in conducting complex building science and industrial hygiene assessments
- Analyze previous surveys to determine if additional sampling is required and prepare scopes of services
- Perform field assessments, collect environmental and personal samples, and maintain and operate building science and industrial hygiene instruments and equipment
- Compile and provide summary of analytical data and organize data for reports
- Assist in implementing strategies, IH standards, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment requirements to control and minimize workplace hazards
- Collaborate with senior-level industrial hygienists and practice team managers to advise on less complex workplace incidents or complaints related to health hazards
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet qualifications to successfully complete Drug-Alcohol Testing
- Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or certificate in project planning, management, environmental sciences, engineering, construction, architecture, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or a related science field preferred
- Field work experience may be substituted in lieu of science education requirements
- Must be able to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment as needed
- 7+ years' experience of technically sound consulting experience conducting and managing Industrial Hygiene and Building Science projects
- Asbestos/Mold Surveys, Exposure Monitoring Experience, Noise Monitoring Experience
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to travel locally up to 50%
- Reliable transportation
- Proficient in project management and personnel management
- Strong technical writing skills
- Microsoft Software and Applications
- Strong background in Industrial Hygiene and Building Sciences related practices
- Knowledge with various Industrial Hygiene and Building Sciences related sampling equipment and protocols
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to mold, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and/or industrial hygiene services required
