Key Responsibilities
  • We are in search of an experienced Automation Specialist who possesses mid-level technical skills complemented by expert insights gained through extensive experience. This role requires the ability to propose alternative solutions in automation design and control methodologies, along with advanced troubleshooting capabilities for PLC logic control systems.
  • Utilize engineering design documents to commission control systems, validate control loops, confirm the functionality of control logic, configure end devices, and conduct alarm tests.
  • Apply expertise in design reviews and process hazard analysis, serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Oversee the installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation equipment.
  • Maintain and repair a diverse range of automation and electrical equipment associated with upstream oil and gas production operations.
  • Provide on-site automation support for upstream oil and gas production activities.
  • Act as a technical resource for facility control systems and field instrumentation, including level, pressure, flow, vibration, and other instruments.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities comply with relevant industry and corporate Process Control standards.
  • Adhere to PLC programming practices, standards, and Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement within instrumentation and control systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Leverage Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP, to streamline maintenance operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in the oil field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in upstream oil and gas automation.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Rosemount systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and modify Cause & Effects, P&ID's, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for control networks at well sites, well pads, tank batteries, saltwater disposal, and compressor stations (ControlNet, Ethernet I/P, Network Switches, fiber optics, RF communications).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with management, technical teams, and field personnel.
  • Build positive relationships based on trust and collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve objectives.
  • Actively listen and welcome new ideas for discussion, then influence and act to drive positive performance and achieve results.
