Wood is inviting expressions of interest for a Land GIS Specialist to contribute to our client's operations in the Oil & Gas sector.


The Land GIS Specialist will facilitate map production and spatial analysis across various Oil & Gas projects, leveraging extensive expertise in ArcGIS 10.8.x and ArcPro 3.x.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop interactive web-based applications using Experience Builder, ArcGIS Enterprise, Server, and Portal environments.
  • Digitize intricate meets and bounds utilizing ArcGIS software within an SDE framework, linking to Land Management software data.
  • Execute queries in the land management system to assess daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate effectively across diverse oil and gas functions to analyze and deliver projects with minimal oversight.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Geography, Geographic Information Science, or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in mapping spatial data from land survey descriptions, including metes and bounds or quarter calls.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing data within SDE databases.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the upstream oil & gas industry.
  • At least 5 years of GIS experience with ESRI software, with a preference for ArcGIS and ArcPro.
  • Strong understanding of core GIS principles, including coordinate systems, transformations, and projections.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret customer requests in non-technical terms to identify optimal solutions.

Database Management:
Utilize knowledge of Oracle Databases or Microsoft SQL for spatial data storage and to construct queries for data retrieval or updates to meet requests.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • In-depth knowledge of ESRI products, including Portal, ArcGIS Server, SDE, and GeoEvent Server.
  • Familiarity with Quorum Land, MyQuorum, and QuorumGIS.
  • Experience managing an enterprise GIS within Azure or AWS cloud environments.
  • Ability to use Model Builder in GIS for automating workflows, data maintenance, and geoprocessing.
  • Develop solutions utilizing ESRI JavaScript API, Experience Builder, Python API, and Arcade.
  • Experience with Alteryx.
