Job Summary

BART is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Standards and Infrastructure Resiliency Program, you will be responsible for providing technical and project leadership to ensure the resilience and reliability of our infrastructure against climate change and other environmental challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Update and administer the BART Facilities Standards and the BART Local Hazard Mitigation Plan to ensure they remain current and reflect the latest industry practices.
  • Spearhead efforts to strengthen BART Infrastructure Resiliency, implementing strategies and innovations to safeguard against natural hazards and ensure the safety and reliability of BART operations and services.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for various BART Infrastructure Resiliency projects, including planning, implementing, engineering, and managing support.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance infrastructure resilience, ensuring long-term sustainability and reliability in the face of natural hazards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of full-time professional verifiable experience in engineering project administration or related experience.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in the State of California.
