Principal Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Automation Engineer to join our Site Services team. As a key member of our Facility Systems & Plant Engineering (FSPE) team, you will provide technical support to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of automation systems owned and supported by Site Services at Genentech's South San Francisco and Dixon sites.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Technical System Owner (TSO) and maintain wide range of automation platforms, control systems, and system applications.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) using Siemens Desigo, ALC, and Aveeva PI technologies.
- Conduct system performance analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Provide essential system support in a 24x7 environment, identifying and resolving hardware and software application issues.
- Lead and maintain server infrastructure, including system patching, upgrade, backups, operating procedures, and system manuals.
- Over 12 years of experience designing and supporting BAS specific automation systems in manufacturing or critical operations environments.
- Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols, including TCP/IP, Windows Networking, OPC, BACnet, MODBUS.
- Strong hands-on technical experience in BAS, networks, and data systems, including Siemens Desigo CC, BBMD configuration, ALC WebCTRL, BACnet, TCP/IP, OPC, and Modbus.
- Experience with data management, including Yokogawa data acquisition systems, Windows server management, active directory, and group policies.
- Understanding of cGMP regulations and Good Engineering Practices (GEP).

We offer a competitive salary range of $134,800 - $250,400, based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Additionally, you will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
