Sterile Processing Tech Lead Job Description

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective processing of surgical instruments and equipment. The Sterile Processing Tech Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of Sterile Processing technicians to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and sterilizers.
  • Develop and implement procedures for the decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all instruments and equipment are properly prepared and available for surgical procedures.
  • Develop and implement procedures for the tracking and inventory of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Provide training and guidance to new employees on Sterile Processing procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Sterile Processing operations.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in Sterile Processing required.
  • Certified Registered Central Supply Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing Department Technician (CSPDT) certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of sterilization equipment and procedures required.
Work Environment:

This position is located at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, CO. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
