Lead Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will play a pivotal role in supporting the monthly closing of the general ledger. This position involves detailed analysis of balance sheets and income statements, as well as thorough examination of cost center expenditures. The primary focus will be on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, including reconciliations between sub-ledgers and the main ledger.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute journal entries for month-end closing, ensuring reconciliations between sub-ledgers and the main ledger are completed.
- Conduct independent analysis of account reconciliations for all asset, liability, and equity accounts.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with the monthly closing timeline.
- Assist in the documentation and oversight of accounts and inventory management.
- Generate variance analysis for cost center expenses and perform account reconciliations.
- Handle Sales and Use Tax across multiple states.
- Support the preparation of schedules for external auditors and address audit inquiries.
- Assist with funding instructions, methods, and special projects as they arise.
- Contribute to annual planning, cash flow management, and forecasting efforts.
- Prepare reconciliations for various U.S. bank accounts and credit cards.
- Monitor accounts effectively.
- Possess experience with bank wire transactions.
- Oversee monthly reporting and analysis processes to support operations, budgeting, and business evaluations.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience Requirements
- At least 4-5 years of relevant experience.
- Fundamental understanding of U.S. GAAP with direct experience in applying accounting standards and practices.
- Basic knowledge of financial statements, period closing processes, journal entry creation, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong experience with QuickBooks is essential.
