About the Role

The VDC Manager I is a key position within the Gilbane Building Company, responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day management of the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) process. This role involves the execution of work associated with constructability development and coordination of project documents for one or more projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project coordination on simultaneous projects with autonomy and independence.
  • Develop project-specific Building Information Modeling (BIM) Standards & Specifications (BS&S).
  • Draft project coordination schedules and budgets.
  • Manage daily coordination activities of a small team of VDC Engineers.
  • Coach and develop VDC Engineers.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive coordination documentation.
  • Participate in sales strategy, pursuits, and presentations.
  • Lead 4-5 VDC deliverables at one time, including through the work of direct reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or BIM-related specialties.
  • 4-5 years of VDC Coordination experience.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Key Skills and Abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time-management and analytical skills.
  • Expert user of BIM and design software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, In-design).
  • Firm understanding of complex design concepts and integrated building components and systems.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to a small team of VDC Engineers.
  • Ability to mentor and develop VDC Engineers.
