Job Overview

As a key player in mold upkeep, you will oversee the effective application of mold release agents, utilizing liquid chemicals while adhering to safety protocols, including the use of nitrile gloves. Your role will involve working with polishing compounds and operating pneumatic polishers to ensure the molds used for part production maintain a gel-coat finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and restore mold geometry according to part specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Utilize pneumatic polishers and rubbing/polishing compounds effectively.
  • Handle chemicals safely, with provided personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify mold-related issues and schedule maintenance.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to team objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Employ various hand and pneumatic tools for patching, sanding, and spraying tasks.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in mold maintenance, particularly with gel-coat finishes or fiberglass reinforced plastics, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Physical capability to sit, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment in various situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with colleagues.
  • Evidence of a satisfactory work record, including attendance and punctuality.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Proven ability to train and mentor others.
