Field Engineer

About the Role:
Burns Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our Facilities & Infrastructure team. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing field operations for distributed generation projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessments and inspections to ensure quality control, safety, and adherence to project timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to coordinate activities and resolve technical issues on-site.
- Monitor the installation and commissioning of distributed generation components, including inverters, transformers, and energy storage systems.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and compliance records.
- Assist in the development and review of project plans, ensuring all components meet regulatory and safety requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to field staff and subcontractors regarding the installation and operation of power systems.
- Implement best practices for construction processes, safety protocols, and environmental compliance.
- Participate in project meetings, providing insights on field operations and identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Field Engineer in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in distributed generation component power systems.
- Strong knowledge of power systems, renewable energy technologies, and related regulations.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
