Aerospace Assembly Technician Job Description

Accurus Aerospace Corporation is seeking a skilled Aerospace Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Aerospace Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling aircraft components and subassemblies, installing items with the use of sealants, compounds, fasteners, and primers, and utilizing various shop equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble aircraft components and subassemblies
  • Install items with the use of sealants, compounds, fasteners, and primers
  • Utilize air gauges, micrometers, calipers, hone, press, drills, and other shop equipment
  • Perform filing, burring, crimping, framing, drilling, reaming, and other tasks as required
Requirements:
  • Military or aerospace industry experience with complex metallic or composite assemblies
  • Ability to follow work instructions and be accountable for work performed
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good eye-hand coordination
  • Basic inspection gauges
  • Use of common hand and power tools
  • Understanding and use of simple drawings and sketches
  • Able to fit check and assemble detail parts
  • Able to identify and properly install fasteners and sealants

  • Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word
  • Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
  • Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The typical work environment is an office setting; occasionally the employee may be required to visit the manufacturing areas and/or customer sites where they could be exposed to loud noises, fumes/odors, and hazards associated with moving equipment.

  • Standing for long periods of time, reaching, lifting, and bending
  • Working with machine tooling equipment, which comes with certain safety hazards
  • Use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and earplugs, due to flying material bits and machine noise
