Accountabilities/Responsibilities

This role involves providing critical support to the facility by performing various administrative tasks as assigned. These functions may include:

  • Scheduling surgeries in the surgery template with pertinent information, handling calls from physician offices regarding scheduling patients at the surgery center, or scheduling surgeries.
  • Responding to phone calls in a professional manner, dealing with physician offices and patient inquiries expeditiously, taking messages, and transferring calls to other departments when necessary.
  • Completing pre-registration and ensuring authorization is obtained from the physician's office prior to scheduling surgery, along with completing necessary paperwork for registration using the computer system.
  • Maintaining accurate logs for cancelled appointments.
  • Performing various clerical duties such as photocopying forms, reports, patient information, mailing surveys, preparing patient charts, faxing forms, and retrieving faxes as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized surgery scheduling area.
  • All scheduled cases must be verified as soon as possible.
  • Patient notifications and financial responsibility follow-up must be handled immediately, informing patients of the centers' payment policies and offering suitable payment options when necessary.
  • All insurance verification and patient calls must be clearly documented in the patient's account.
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in healthcare and one year of experience in surgery scheduling procedures are highly desirable.
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as function within a team.
  • A basic understanding of surgery scheduling, receptionist, and registration responsibilities is essential, along with the ability to handle stress effectively.
  • Flexibility with hours and willingness to adapt to shifts are also essential.
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
