Position Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Duties
1. Welcome patients, staff, and visitors in a courteous manner to ensure an excellent response to inquiries and service requests.
2. Offer guidance and information regarding the location of clinical services, administrative meetings, and other general inquiries, ensuring clear communication so customers can easily find their way.
3. Collaborate with Emergency Department personnel for incoming surgical patients.
- Assist patients with necessary documentation.
- Notify surgical teams of waiting patients.
5. Handle general communication tasks, including managing phone calls and maintaining informational materials such as maps and patient guides, ensuring clarity in addressing customer needs.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned, fostering teamwork, mentoring, and assisting in the training of new employees by positively contributing to the implementation of new procedures and functions to enhance service delivery.
Position Details:
This is a part-time position, typically involving three six-hour shifts.
Qualifications:
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates with substantial progress towards a diploma or relevant experience in customer service may be considered.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Participation in mandatory training and continuing education is required as per policies and administrative directives.
- Prior experience in customer service and familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential to effectively meet customer needs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently is required.
- Proficiency in computer usage is necessary.
- Capability to assist patients and guests in navigating various locations.
- Ability to communicate effectively through barriers.
