Job Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Plan, organize, and establish objectives and goals for duties assigned to the Service Department.
  • Document Management: Oversee the flow of documents, including final invoices and/or estimations, and ensure timely delivery of proposals.
  • Review and Analysis: Review estimates, inspections, letters, scopes, proposals, and invoices for service work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Team Management: Monitor and teach subordinates, determine required staffing, and make hiring and firing decisions within Tecta guidelines.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with customers, management, and employees, and liaison with other departments as needed.
  • Training and Development: Determine and establish training needs for employees and the business model.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Handle all day-to-day service department business, including review of daily time cards and service tickets, review of Hot Sheet requests, creating service tickets, scheduling, and communicating with field crews and office staff.
  • Sales and Marketing: Develop and execute a departmental sales plan to increase revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customer service needs are being exceeded and assist in collection of past due accounts receivable for service-related work.
  • Project Management: Manage service-related projects, which may include monitoring labor hours and materials, job site meetings, communication with the building owner or general contractor, and issuing job billing.
  • Financial Reporting: Report monthly financials to the President and review performance of existing service personnel on a regular basis.
  • Morale and Motivation: Maintain the highest level of morale possible by example and ensure that field personnel are fully trained to perform their job at a high level.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of and/or experience with all types of roofing, including the ability to read blueprints and understand specifications.
  • Sales and Marketing: Must be able to sell, estimate, and develop new business, and have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to professionally manage existing and new accounts and a team of 10+/- individuals, and have solid verbal, written, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • Language: Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and contract documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers and all levels of the Tecta organization.
  • Response Time: Respond to calls within 24 hours.
  • Experience: 3+ years' experience in roofing, construction, or a related field.
