POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Operations Technician plays a crucial role in the upkeep and maintenance of all Veridian facilities. This position is responsible for fostering and managing relationships with external service providers related to facility operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regular inspections of all facilities to ensure operational efficiency of building systems.
  • Perform essential electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks as needed.
  • Supervise contracted personnel in the maintenance and repair of all building systems.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager in planning and executing building renovation projects.
  • Act as the primary contact for janitorial services across all credit union locations.
  • Oversee lawn care responsibilities or manage subcontractors for lawn maintenance at all credit union sites.
  • Coordinate snow removal efforts or manage subcontractors for snow clearing at all applicable locations.
  • Support the setup for credit union meetings as required.
  • Handle the pickup and delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment related to facilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Regularly lifting and/or moving items weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Remaining seated for extended periods.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates within a professional office setting and routinely utilizes standard office equipment. Employees may be required to work in varying environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors, and may encounter fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts. Work in confined spaces and at heights is also a possibility.

TRAVEL

This role necessitates extensive travel; a valid driver's license is required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a closely related field.
