Fleet Maintenance Manager Job Description

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead our team of technicians and mechanics in an aggressive quality preventative maintenance repair program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Develop Employees: Foster a culture of excellence and provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Monitor Performance and Provide Feedback: Regularly assess employee performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve and grow.
  • Oversee Shop Operations: Ensure that all shop operations are running smoothly and efficiently, including planning daily manpower and monitoring equipment maintenance.
  • Provide Support and Guidance: Offer support and guidance to the operations team regarding equipment-related issues and provide assistance with administrative tasks such as payroll approval and repair order maintenance.
  • Identify Opportunities for Cost Savings and Efficiency Improvements: Analyze data and identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies, and implement changes to achieve these goals.
  • Ensure Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all shop operations are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintain a safe working environment for employees.
Requirements:
  • Industry Experience: At least 2 years' experience in fleet maintenance or operations, and 5-8 years of direct management experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with heavy truck and trailer repair and maintenance, and thorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and clients.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, and Fleet Management systems.
