Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Academic Program Administrator to join our team at Johns Hopkins University. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of graduate student activities in the Biophysics Graduate Program and the Program in Molecular Biophysics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the department's academic program infrastructure, including admissions, administrative policies, and student database.
  • Provide front-line support for academic inquiries from within and outside the university.
  • Coordinate graduate programs, including course scheduling, registration, and graduation registration.
  • Oversee the scheduling of oral examinations and manage related paperwork.
  • Collaborate with faculty to implement new academic curricula and policies.
  • Plan and execute special events for graduate students, including orientation and annual retreats.
  • Assist with the administration of NIH training grants.
  • Compile and analyze academic data for statistical reports and grant submissions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of progressively responsible experience in program administration in an academic environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of software applications such as SIS, Slate, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of administrative/academic experience.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
