Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Department team at Animal Specialty Center. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia support.
  • Triage and assess patients, obtaining vital signs and providing critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with our Emergency Veterinarians to provide direct case oversight and management.
  • Contribute to the holistic care of our patients, working closely with our specialty services team.
  • Participate in in-house laboratory testing, including running lab tests and using Cubex equipment.
  • Administer medications, fill prescriptions, and provide client education on animal care and health.
  • Perform radiographs and ECG monitoring, as well as provide advanced CPR training and support.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Veterinary Technician in New York State.
  • Strong experience in in-patient care, in-house laboratory operation, venipuncture, and radiology.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on providing outstanding client service and patient care.
  • A positive and respectful attitude, with a commitment to maintaining a supportive and inclusive hospital culture.
