Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including administering medications, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, to help diagnose and treat medical conditions.
  • Assist with surgical procedures, including preparing patients, maintaining asepsis, and monitoring anesthesia.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including medical histories, treatment plans, and test results.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing education and support to help them understand their pet's medical condition and treatment options.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Veterinary Technician in the state of New York.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Veterinary Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician, preferably in a specialty hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
