Salary Range: $50,000 to $54,000 annually

Summary: Craig Technologies is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist to provide essential support for satellite operations at the White Sands Complex. This role is integral to the NASA Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engineering and maintenance support for the High Rate Data Switch (HDRS) across the entire system and its subsystems.
  • Conduct maintenance and bench repair for Low Voltage power supplies.
  • Offer engineering and maintenance assistance for the USS-CR Wide Band Demodulator and Wide Band PTE modem.
  • Support the Antenna IFL Control and Status equipment maintenance.
  • Provide on-the-job training, generate documentation, assist with firmware/software installations, and contribute technical insights for enhancements or corrections.
  • Foster a professional image and promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure workplace safety by identifying risks and intervening to prevent incidents.
  • Perform additional system maintenance tasks as directed by management.
  • This role may require call-in, weekend, holiday, and overtime work.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in Radio Frequency (RF) component-level repair, including phasing capabilities.
  • Experience with IT network architecture and network protocol standards (TCP, UDP, IP).
  • Knowledge of digital component-level repair and testing.
  • Familiarity with Digital Receiver systems and Power Supply systems.
  • Understanding of RF Up Converters, Modulators/Demodulators, and logic technologies.
  • Ability to respond effectively during critical situations.
  • Capable of isolating hardware issues to the lowest replaceable unit level.
  • Experience in conducting equipment evaluations and testing.
  • Skilled in developing Engineering Changes (ECs), Local Operating Procedures (LOPs), and Preventive Maintenance Plans (PMs).
  • Able to train and guide technicians in component repair.
  • Competent in coordinating equipment installations and ensuring system adjustments.

Education and Clearance:

  • An Associate's degree with 2 to 6 years of relevant experience is required, or 3 years of additional related experience in lieu of formal education.

Security Clearance:

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship or naturalization.

A valid U.S. Driver's License is also required.
