Position Overview:

Serve as the Chief Pilot (pilot-in-command) on aircraft owned or leased by Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. The individual may hold Captain qualifications on two distinct aircraft types. As the pilot-in-command, the individual is accountable for the safety, security, and comfort of both passengers and crew members.

Core Responsibilities:
  • 15% Operate as Pilot in Command on Home Depot aircraft, ensuring a high level of technical proficiency and awareness of safe aviation practices across various locations, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other international destinations.
  • 15% Fully execute all flight-related responsibilities. Provide direction to flight crew to ensure the safe, efficient, and coordinated operation of corporate aircraft.
  • 15% Ensure the conduct of safe flight operations and adherence to all relevant FAA regulations, along with internal policies of Home Depot.
  • 15% Maintain comprehensive knowledge of standard operating procedures, emergency protocols, and all operational systems of the aircraft.
  • 10% Oversee the coordination and execution of all phases of assigned flights, utilizing all available resources effectively.
  • 10% Confirm that all crew members are fully qualified, adequately rested, and prepared for flight operations.
  • 10% Communicate with Flight Operations regarding estimated arrival times, actual arrival times, and the status of the aircraft, crew, and passengers.
  • 10% Mentor co-pilots to prepare them for potential future Captain positions.
Reporting Structure:
  • Typically reports to the Chief Pilot.
  • No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Travel Expectations:
  • Requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
Physical Demands:
  • Primarily seated in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities for movement. Occasionally may need to lift or move light items.
Work Environment:
  • Generally in a comfortable setting but may encounter moderate physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes, or odors.
  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Five to eight years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a professional pilot in corporate, military, or civil aviation.
  • A minimum of 4000 hours of total flight time, including 2000 hours in advanced, heavy multi-engine turboprop or jet aircraft and 2000 hours as pilot in command.
Minimum Educational Background:
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree program or an equivalent degree in a related field.
Preferred Educational Background:
  • No additional educational requirements.

  • 5 years.
