Job Overview

Ascentec Engineering, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in the sourcing and manufacture of advanced hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret customer drawings, including GD&T and multi-level Bills Of Materials
  • Perform advanced manual inspections with gauging tools and conduct visual product inspections
  • Solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration
  • Create and refine manufacturing work instructions and quality inspection plans
  • Submit customer first article, final inspection reports, and engineering change requests
  • Record and trend quality performance data
  • Create and refine process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA)
  • Participate in material review board (MRB) disposition activities
  • Lead and facilitate internal continuous improvement efforts
  • Lead customer escapes containment and root cause corrective action using advanced problem-solving
  • Provide training to employees on quality-related topics
  • Interface with customer quality and engineering reps
  • Manage customer supplier scorecard reviews and improvement activities
  • Conduct source inspections and schedule contracted source inspections as necessary
  • Audit internal and supplier processes
  • Own, direct, and establish metrics for supplier quality management
  • Make the final decision on acceptability of product
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year institution. ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and/or CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Associate) certification is desired. A minimum of 3-10 years of relevant manufacturing experience in the aerospace and/or semiconductor industry is highly preferred.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, self-motivated, flexible, and organized individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive customer-focused attitude. They will be able to work in an office environment as well as a production environment with exposure to noise, liquid grinding coolant mist and vapor, dust, and lubricants managed through an exhaust system.

Occasional local travel may be required. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, and reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is $65,000 to $100,000, with paid time off, holiday pay, paid medical coverage, paid short- and long-term disability coverage, 401(k) with matching funds, profit sharing eligibility, and educational aid program availability.
