Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team at Collins Aerospace. As a key member of our Precision Navigation Hardware department, you will be responsible for designing and developing RF and digital circuit card assemblies for our ATNAVICS program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop RF and digital circuit card assemblies for the ATNAVICS program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets requirements and specifications
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs in the lab to support field LRU returns
  • Identify form, fit, function replacements for obsolete components to support the quarterly obsolescence report
  • Support suppliers during the build process to resolve any issues
  • Support manufacturing to troubleshoot electrical or RF issues found during refurbishments or production
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of microwave and digital circuit design
  • Experience with Electrical Engineering design tools for circuit and electromagnetic simulation (Keysight ADS, CST, or equivalent)
  • Experience in a lab environment operating RF and standard test equipment including spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Willingness to support efforts that require domestic travel and potential international travel
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of radar system theory
  • Experience to Printed Wiring Board (PWB) manufacturing
  • Experience with schematic capture and board layout tools
  • Experience with taking a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and developing a complete hardware design, and then verify the design via test and integration
  • Prior experience with system level hardware integration and problem solving
  • Understanding of Initial Release and Change Notice process
  • Familiarity with EVMS reporting and tools
