Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Test Equipment Engineer to support electronic controls test equipment within our Fort Wayne factory and other BAE Systems sites worldwide. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work hands-on with complex electronic controls, design, integrate, and maintain automated test hardware and software, and support repair and maintenance for equipment installed at BAE Systems locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement hardware test requirements with in-house and/or third-party automated test solutions.
  • Initiate continuous improvement of electronic controls in response to test performance and yields.
  • Design, integration, maintenance, and configuration management of automated test hardware and software.
  • Support repair and maintenance for equipment installed at BAE Systems locations around the world.
  • Liaise with Design Engineering to execute test solutions for new products.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Electronics troubleshooting and instrument familiarity (analog, digital, power, communications).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Experience with electronics test equipment design and integration.
  • Ability to interpret and implement electronic hardware test requirements.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience automating test instrumentation for both test and fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to program in various software environments (e.g., Basic, UNIX, C, NI LabVIEW, NI Test Stand, Visual Studio, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with hardware design certification standards and testing requirements.
  • Experience working in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with statistical process control techniques and analytical tools (e.g., 6 Sigma).
